Mrs. Belle Quiggle 85 years old a former resident of Veedersburg died 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at her home at 414 South Grant Avenue, Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health for some time, but had been seriously ill only ten days. She had lived in that city the last ten years after moving from Veedersburg. She was born on 10 Feb 1866 the daughter of Christopher and Sarah Ellis Keeling, her father having been a large land owner and first subdivider of lots in Veedersburg in association with Peter Veeder for whom the town was named. She was first married to Joseph Clawson who preceded her in death and she later married Oscar Quiggle who survives with a daughter Mrs. Elsie Songer and a sister Mrs. Rinda Fletcher, both of Veedersburg, 32 grandchildren and 19 grt grandchildren. She was a member of the Veedersburg E.U.B church where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday conducted by the Rev. Robert Todd with burial in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery, with the Fishero Funeral home in charge.
